Thank God, It’s Friday!

I’ve been meditating on Psalm 46, and I’m terribly grateful for what God reveals and promises about himself there.

Thank you, O holy Father, that you are my refuge and strength, a very present help when I’m in trouble, whether in body or soul. Thank you, Lord, that you are abundantly available, always eager to help me.

Thank you, Father, that there is no need to fear, even if the earth should shake on its foundations and the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. Thank you, that even if the nations rage and roar, you will guard me as the pupil of your eye, for you are a refuge and fortress for me and for all your people.

Thank you, O God, O merciful Father, that we can “cease striving and know that you are God.” Lord Jesus, thank you that you are the God who is with us, you are the fortress in which we can hide. Thank you for your kindness and forgiveness. Thank you that you will be exalted among the nations, you will be exalted in the earth.

Thank you for the start of a new school year. May you be honored and glorified in it. Amen
