George Gilder on Consequences of Family Collapse

with one comment

I read George Gilder’s “Men and Marriage” about 20 years ago, and I remember it sending a shot through me. He wrote with such directness and with such a ring of truth about the relationship between men and marriage, how marriage affected men who entered it and how it affected those who didn’t, and the greater societal effects, I simply could not ignore it. Thus, I was struck again while listening to Gilder in an interview on Uncommon Knowledge when he said: “If the family collapses, it will take a welfare state to take care of the women and children, and a police state to handle the boys.” You ponder that.

  1. If the family collapses, it will take a welfare state to take care of the women and children, and a police state to handle the boys.

Yeah. I don’t know what’s going to happen.
