Ed Whelan: A Brief Note on the Election

with 2 comments

Ed Whelan, the head of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, had a very brief take on last night’s election. I entirely, and with much chagrin, agree, particularly with his third paragraph.

Read it here.

  1. I think he might be a bit over-the-top with descriptions about last night such as: fear, grave peril, doomed, collapse, and terrible. His article is a bit underwhelming.

    • R- It’s brief, so it’s not a full-blown analysis. I was struck most by his assessment of marriage and the family, and yes, I think those numbers spell near doom, not for Christians, but for our culture and nation. Maybe not in our lifetimes, but barring real repentance, in the future. I would have applied the same analysis had Romney won, though I don’t think he would have. Romney would have just perhaps slowed things a bit.
