Indoctrination: The Movie

indoctrinationI loved this film. Absolutely loved it. I wish I owned 20 copies right this minute, so I could be busily mailing them out to 20 of my closest friends. I am officially an evangelist for the thing. I have taught in the public schools, and at a private Christian school. My wife has homeschooled overseas, and we are homeschooling our two oldest boys right now. In my experience, this film was so full of gracious and sobering truth, that when it was over, I wanted to stay up and watch it again. Not because I need convincing. I’m convinced. But I found myself convicted and inspired.

This movie makes it plain-as-day what the government schools are, and what the fervent proponents of them hope to achieve through them. It provides excellent historical analysis, penetrating biblical justification, great storytelling. In sum, it makes one of the best cases I’ve seen or heard for Christian abandonment, en masse, from the public schools. It is a hopeful film, particularly for any Christian who would love to get his or her children out of the government schools, but cannot see how.
